Acrylic paint / mixed media on canvas.

This painting, a testament to sustainability, merges the unexpected with the deliberate. Crafted by reusing coffee mixed with acrylic paint, it boasts a rich tapestry of textures and bumps that evoke a sense of organic creation. The essence of the work lies in its reflection of the accidental marvels of nature and the spontaneous compositions created by living organisms, often without their conscious effort.

The inspiration for this piece came from observing my dog, Ro, who unintentionally left distinctive patterns on the glass with his nose while gazing outside. These accidental drawings became a poignant symbol in the painting. The background, representing the freedom of the outside world, is an abstracted portrayal of nature's boundless beauty. In contrast, fragments of a grid weave through the composition, mimicking barriers that restrict access to this freedom.

These abstract forms and the grid's interference highlight a profound desire to break free and connect with the unrestricted world beyond. The interplay between the natural, free-flowing elements and the imposed restrictions creates a visual narrative of yearning and aspiration. This painting is not just a visual delight but also a commentary on the intrinsic drive of all living beings to overcome obstacles and reach for the expanses that lie beyond their immediate confines.
